Improvements have finally been made to the land around the Beatles memorial on The Hoe, which marks the spot where the Fab Four sat in the late 1960s. They stopped off there while filming their Magical Mystery Tour - posing for photos in front of the then all-white Smeatons Tower.

Land and property auctioneers Clive Emson have advertised the forthcoming sale of the former Plymouth register office site in Lockyer Street. It’s raised more than a few eyebrows, not only due to the apparently very low guide price, but also due to the apparent snub to the Plymouth Hoe
