Seven stand in Waterfront election

Seven people will stand in the Plymouth City Council election to elect a councillor in the St Peter and Waterfront ward on May 7.

The contest is for the seat currently held by Labour councillor Alison Raynsford, who was elected in July 2023.

Standing against her are Conservative candidate Kevin Kelway; Liberal Democrat Jane Hughes; Rachel Ali for the Green Party; Andy Rose for the Reform Party; Ryan John Aldred representing the Trade Unionist and Socialist Coalition; and Benjamin Barton, who stands as an Independent.

The Beagle hopes to interview all candidates prior to the election.
