Run of Hope promo shoot on Plymouth Hoe

The Hoe was a blaze of red white and blue on Thursday evening as Storm Plymouth running club members took part in a promo shoot for an event called The Run of Hope - the greatest relay in history - which takes place in the USA next year.

The photo shoot and the Run of Hope are organised by Mark Llewhellin, a former Army commando who is now an author, public speaker and entrepreneur.

Llewhellin teases on his Facebook page that more details of the event will be revealed soon. The run is currently set to run through 77 cities across the United States in Juky 2026, to mark the 250th anniversary of US independence.

But the involvement of Storm Plymouth and the photoshoot on the Hoe has promoted the Beagle to wonder: is there going to be a connection to the city, with its historic links to the Mayflower?
