A new summer festival from TRP

The Theatre Royal has announced a new summer festival, with music, comedy, entertainment, quizzes, DJ sets and even an old-skool tuck shop.

It is happening in and around the scene dock at the rear of the theatre, with TRP saying it will bring together the local community in a family-friendly setting, to enjoy an array of entertainment as well as providing a space to gather and enjoy the summer evenings.

The pop-up destination will open from August 7, with activity for four weeks every Thursday to Sunday. As a part of the programme there will be a mixture of pre-booking and walk-up events.

Creative Community Co-ordinator for ‘Summer in the Scene Dock’ Azza Gasim, said:

“My hope is that by collaborating with communities around the city, we will demonstrate that everyone is welcome at TRP. This is the chance to celebrate the diversity of Plymouth through food, music and performance, and give a whole new perspective on what we do and who we are for.”
